In our last blog, we went over a few tips for keeping your car decal looking like new. To recap, we talked about the right way to rinse your vehicle wrap and why you shouldn’t utilize automatic car washes. At Signners, we not only offer professional vinyl sign printing for vehicles, but we also want to help you to put your best foot forward every day! That is why we have come up with this list of our last couple tips for keeping your vinyl car decal in great shape:
- Keep your vehicle in a garage as often as you can – Although our car decals are made to last, it doesn’t mean that they are impervious to extreme weather. When you aren’t driving your vehicle, you should keep it in a garage, safe from the elements, as often as you can. Extreme heat, rain and air pollutants can all be hard on vehicle graphics, so it is important to avoid these elements as much as possible. If parking in a garage isn’t an option for you, a car port or even a vehicle cover are great alternatives that can help protect your vehicle graphics.
- Add an extra layer of protection – You can use Teflon or silicone polish to add an extra layer of protection to your vehicle graphics. These polishes can help to protect your decal from the elements, and some of them even contain UV protection to prevent fading. Keep in mind that you should never apply regular vehicle wax to your graphic, as this can cause it to degrade quickly.
