As we’ve said before, Davie vehicle wraps and graphics are one of the most economical marketing options in a business’ marketing tool kit. Since digitally printed vehicle wraps are still a relatively new marketing avenue and the advances in materials continue, there’s a ton of information and misinformation out there. Today we’re going to sort out all of this information to identify and debunk the most common myths surrounding vehicle wraps.

  • You can’t wrap a vehicle that’s leased. We actually have plenty of clients who have their dealer deliver their newly leased vehicles directly to us! In general, most leased vehicles are delivered with factory paint jobs and the vinyl can be applied directly over this factory paint easily without damage. However, you should still always read your lease to understand the details of your agreement.
  • You’ll damage your vehicle’s paint with a wrap. This is one false! To the contrary, a vehicle wrap can actually protect your paint. If the paint is fully cured and in good condition, a vehicle wrap will prevent exposure to UV rays, abrasions from dirt, particles and resins, and other environmental elements.
  • It’s not safe to put vehicle graphics on your vehicle windows. Actually, you can see through window graphics that are printed on perforated window film. Window perf vinyl is perforated with very small holes that allow you to see out about as well as an uncovered window.
  • Vehicle wraps aren’t worth the investment and they’re too expensive. While the answer to this one can vary from business type and vehicle usage, for the most part, we see that vehicle wraps look great financially compared to traditional paid advertising.
